The Eve of the Purple Cow

We all know that white milk comes from black and white cows, low fat milk comes from skinny cows, 1 and 2% milk comes from a cow missing either 1 or 2% of itself, whole milk comes from fatty cows, chocolate milk comes from brown cows, strawberry milk comes from pink cows, and skim milk comes from scalped cows. But were does grape juice come from? The ledgend is here:

A night long ago, in a barnyard far, far away, a strawberry cow and a chocolate bull awaited the birth of their calf. On January 29, around quarter of 12, the strawberry cow struggled to give birth. At 12:00 midnight, the wet calf emerged from the womb. After being cleaned off, the cow and bull reacted as if he were Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. Their little calf, a girl, was purple! When the cow was milked, a purple juice streamed into the bucket. It was mistaken for grape juice. That was the first and last of the purple cows.

So there you have it. The Eve of the Purple Cow is Jan. 29, so grab a tall glass of grape juice, add some vanilla ice cream, and stick a swirly straw in it. Relax and enjoy! Here is a rhyme the milkmaid of the purple cow created:
I never saw a purple cow
and never hope to see one.
But I can tell you anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one!
