It so happens that the day after the new Narnia movie, Prince Caspian, came to theatres, my family voyaged to the Cinema Center to see this highly anticipated film.
Once in the theatre, the movie started quite well. The entire film was extremely well done, except that Mother claimed that the movie did not correspond with the book. It so happens that after reading the book, and comparing it to the film, this claim is accurate.
For all true Narnians, this is an interesting predicament. The movie added some unnecessary scenes and deleted others that could have been left in and been just as good, if not better. The sad thing is that one of C.S. Lewis's descendants works with Disney and Walden Media on the Narnia productions, but he did not intervene with the playwrites to correct their mistakes. If one had no idea that there were books to go with the movie, I'm sure that they would have given the entire film a five-star rating. I, who have recently read the book with my family, give the film itself a five-star rating, but as far as correspondance goes, a 1 or 2 will have to do. In the future, I hope that this renowned descendant will pull his act together and make the films true to their original expectations as books.
The movie was very good in and of itself, though, so I was not entirely disappointed. I love the one on one combat scene with Peter(William Moseley) and Miraz (Sergio Castellitto), and there was a cute appearance of Lucy (Georgie Henley) near the Fords of Baruna :-) . And Reepicheep, well, he was PERFECT!!!! That's probably my favorite character!

So, all in all, the movie was a good one and I enjoyed it very much.
