So many things have happened in the last week or so, and I haven't had time to record them properly. So! To start......
Last weekend, my great-grandmother turned 88. We traveled 2 and a half hours to go to a restraunt in New York, and my cousins from Virginia traveled 10 hours. The restraunt in question was none other than Little Venice, a very traditional Italian restraunt that my great-grandfather patronized frequently while he was still alive. Over 100 paintings lined the walls, and wafts of tomato sauce and pasta drifted in and out of the room. Gorgeous. Beautiful.
Lonely.
I know my cousins were there, my brother, my aunt, uncle, great aunt, great uncle, grandparents, and great-grandmother were there and all, but all I could think of was Anna. I hate it when that happens, but not because I don't like to think of Anna, I just want to enjoy my time without wistful thinking intruding. After my ravioli appeared, I soon found it easier to focus on my family, and all was well, until the loooooooooooong ride home.
Then, last evening, enter
EASTER VIGIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The glorious night when we celebrate Christ's rising from the dead. Starting at 8:00, and ending at 10, it is the most joyful celebration I can think of (at church). I had to sing three Psalms in front of the church, Anna had to serve at the altar.
Afterwards, refreshments and fellowship downstairs.
Anna and I had the SAME DRESS. The best part was that we hadn't planned it. No shopping trip together, no over the phone plans......we just happened to have bought the same dress! I love our taste. :)
Midway through a third sugar cookie, I suddenly noticed something about the young man across from me at the table (he's S. Edmund S., actually...). Leaning over to Anna, I whispered urgently:
"The caterpillar is gone!"
Yes, S.E.S. was caterpillar-less!!!!!!!!!!
Bursting into laughter, he eyed us worriedly. My brother just said:
"Probly has something to do with Narnia...again." This was accompanied by an eyeroll and and understanding nod from S.E.S., who had cleverly stated that it looked like there was an "Attack of the Clones", in reference to our dresses. I think he was trying to impress me. Hahahaha...........
ANYWAY!!!! (I'm getting off topic)
Anna and I were devastated by the loss of our dear little friend the caterpillar (did you catch the DLF?????). Another name for it could be El Moustachio, or just facial hair...
I miss that little guy. It didn't even recieve a proper burial.
Maybe he'll come back to life if S.E.S. forgets to shave. LET THE BLACK MAGIC BE UNDONE!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm getting out of hand.
Ok. It's Easter, which means that JESUS IS ALIVE!
And guess what that reminds us all of.......... I think we all know.
ASLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm kind of hyper right now. I had too many jellybeans.
So I got to my point, and that means that Elwen must say goodbye for now...sigh...
another post, another day.
